Kellmann Recruitment is the new name in recruitment within the building supplies sector. It was formed early in 2017 by the two owners and directors; Mathew Dittmann and myself Tom Kelly.

Mat and I have been friends since school, we went to different universities to study business and entered the job market 3 years later in 2013. We have both always been ambitious, hungry and determined to be successful but lacked real direction when taking our first look around the UK job market.

We were both attracted to the recruitment industry because we saw it as a profession in which you are genuinely rewarded for working hard and are fully accountable for your own success. If you have a talent for matching job seekers with companies then both your client and employer will love you, if you struggle with this then the allure of low basic salaries, high commission thresholds, long working hours will probably start to wear off before too long.

We have always been business minded and had always had ambitions to start and then build something of our own. After learning the recruitment trade over 3 and a half years and having both gained experience in the building supplies/construction market, placing hundreds of people into the market between us and building some great relationships along the way, we felt the time was right to make our move.

The idea behind Kellmann Recruitment is to provide high quality recruitment services for all involved in the process at a fair price for our clients. We are aware of the numerous negative stereotypes and opinions about the recruitment industry in general, many of which are well founded and many are also not. Rather than seeing this as a threat we saw it as an opportunity for our business. It means that when we provide a high quality service, matching the best people in the market with companies that are actually going places and do so in a relaxed and friendly manner, our reputation is enhanced because of it.

We don’t work with a multitude of companies across different sectors, we have a small group of clients within the building supplies market to allow us to get to know the businesses properly so we can represent them effectively. It also allows us to truly be consultants as our name suggests, we can work with them to develop their recruitment process which allows them to attract better candidates more easily and means we can judge which candidates will work best for them.

We’ve had a successful start with our methods and ideology and want to build on these foundations.
